Multi Bet Example
Say you place a multi bet covering three separate match results — if the decimal odds on each are 1.40, 1.80 and 1.90, the combined odds come to 1.40 × 1.80 × 1.90 = 4.79 (approximately). In that case, a ৳100 bet returns ৳479 if all three are correct. But if any one of the three is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost. How to Read Odds
Betting odds appear in three formats — Decimal, Fractional and American. The odds for the same bet can be expressed in all three ways.
Example 1: Decimal 2.50
If Team A wins, a ৳1,000 bet returns ৳2,500 — that is ৳1,500 profit plus your original ৳1,000 back. The same bet in fractional is 3/2 and in American it is +150. If Team A does not win, ৳1,000 is lost.
Example 2: Favourite's Odds
If Team B is the favourite, the odds are decimal 1.25, fractional 1/4, American -400. A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,250 — a profit of just ৳250. A minus figure in American odds means how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit.
Which format should you use?
Decimal format is usually the default at magic. It is the simplest — just multiply the odds figure by your stake to get the total return. Fractional is mainly used in British horse racing betting, and the American format is more common in American sports.
Keep in mind — the lower the odds figure, the more likely that outcome is considered to be. But lower odds also mean lower returns. Betting is for entertainment — there is no guaranteed profit.
